Is kuselan really a flop movie ?

I'm just wondering why members of this forum didn't try to post any topic under movies.

Alright - to give a start lets discuss on this..

Inspite of being very much in the happening city (as far as Kuselan movie is concerned), I am not still sure whether it's a flop movie or not. In fact I have a completely different opinion about this so called flops.

I believe it's the distributor/producer who can pronounce whether a movie is a flop or success commercially and need to worry about it. I don't mind watching a flop movie as long as there is something, however small, in there for me to learn. Sometimes the learning could even be "mark this director/actor and delay as much as possible watching his/her movie".

Coming back to the subject - Most of my friends/relatives didn't like the movie. Some of them being ardent fans of the Superstar. I haven't seen the movie yet. From what I heard about the movie, I would rather sleep than spend 3 hours watching it.

Going by what I read in media - Yes. My take on it here :

Rajni has always been a larger than life hero, at least in the last decade. That makes things difficult for him as well as for his fans.

Read that the original version in Malayalam was simply superb. May be in Tamil the director attempted to add some super star flick to satisfy ardent fans and lost the charm of the movie. Finally he lost his plot in the middle and satisfied none.

I'm sure the movie would have been a success if probably Kamal did it. Well I don’t like to say that Rajni hasn't done his best. May be Kamal & his fans are better prepared to take such a different role.
