Business Analyst in IT

Post  Admin on Mon Aug 25, 2008 7:59 pm

Dear Friends,

I have always wondered what does the Business Analyst feel about working in IT. In my career in software testing, I have found it extremely difficult to ensure their career growth unless they are willing to move into Management or Technology line.

So what do you feel? How do you motivate a BA /get motivated as BA, if you are working in a IT organization?

By the by there are also many terms used in the market for a BA - Subject Matter Expert, Domain Expert, etc. ? In fact even the difference in these terminologies (and thereby in the role) could be debated.

Bye for now.

In the world of IT services where everyone is expected to be a juggler, at least for now I don't see a niche area that can motivate BA's. As of now only option being moving to technical or management role. Question

The sea change can happen only if the product companies succeed in large number & come up with a business model where functional R&D play a critical role towards the product success.

Best people to answer this query would be the people who work as BA themselves clown

Cheers
